On March 14, 2024, experts of the Cherkasy Branch of KFI took part in a seminar on “Ensuring effective pre-trial investigation and procedural guidance in criminal proceedings in the budgetary sphere” held at the Cherkasy Regional Prosecutor’s Office.
The seminar was attended by the heads of district prosecutor’s offices and their deputies, heads of structural units of district prosecutor’s offices, prosecutors of structural units of district prosecutor’s offices, as well as the heads of structural units and prosecutors of the regional prosecutor’s office, investigators of the Cherkasy Oblast National Police.
In their speeches, experts of the Cherkasy Branch of KFI Tetiana Akhankina, Nataliia Barska, Andrii Rubel covered topics related to the peculiarities of appointing and conducting forensic examinations appointed in criminal proceedings on the facts of economic offenses regarding the use of budgetary funds, documentary evidence of overstatement of the cost of construction works paid from the budget and problematic issues arising from the examination of road network facilities.
The seminar was held in the form of an active discussion, during which the experts provided comprehensive answers and detailed explanations to the questions raised. This form of cooperation with the law enforcement agencies of the region not only contributed to solving problematic issues that arise during the investigation of crimes committed in the budgetary sphere, but also played an important role in strengthening the authority of the Kyiv Scientific Research Institute of Forensic Expertise.
