Happy Ukrainian Statehood Day!

On 15 July, Ukraine marks Ukrainian Statehood Day—a national holiday that affirms the continuity of the Ukrainian state-building tradition and highlights its more than one-thousand-year history.

The date is connected with the Day of the Baptism of Kyivan Rus–Ukraine and the commemoration of Prince Volodymyr Velykyi (the Great). Kyivan Rus laid the foundation for Ukrainian statehood, while its political, legal, and cultural traditions have continued to shape the development of the Ukrainian state throughout the centuries.

Today, as Ukraine continues to defend its freedom and independence, Ukrainian Statehood Day carries special significance. It serves as a reminder of the strength of the nation's historical heritage, the unity of the Ukrainian people, and the values that remain the foundation of the modern Ukrainian state.
