Olha Stefanishyna, Vice Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration and Minister of Justice of Ukraine, held a working meeting with David van Wiel, Minister of Justice and Security of the Netherlands.
Olga Stefanishyna expressed her gratitude for the multidimensional support of the Kingdom of the Netherlands and emphasized the importance of expert assistance and exchange of experience.
Special attention was paid to international legal mechanisms for bringing russia to justice for crimes committed during the armed aggression against Ukraine.
As part of the visit, the delegation visited Kyiv Scientific Research Institute of Forensic Expertise (hereinafter referred to as KSRIFE), where they got acquainted with the activities of Ukrainian forensic experts, inspected the material and technical base of the Institute and familiarized themselves with the methods used to document war crimes committed by russian.
The representatives of the foreign delegation also visited the history room of KSRIFE. Among the exhibits presented are materials from war crimes sites, in particular the case of the downing of Malaysian Boeing flight MH17, including a model of the aircraft and wreckage collected as part of an international investigation involving Ukrainian experts together with specialists from the Netherlands.
During the visit, Olha Stefanishyna met with the team of KSRIFE and thanked them for their high professionalism and daily work, which is an important part of the national justice system and international efforts to document war crimes.
