On March 27-28, 2025, at the invitation of the Security Service of Ukraine, on the basis of the Institute, together with the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), Nataliia Nestor, Deputy Director for Scientific Work, took part in the international scientific and practical conference “Actual directions of improving the capabilities of the security and defense sector forces of Ukraine: legal and organizational aspects”.
Nataliia Nestor made a presentation on “Forensic examination as a tool for enhancing the capacity of the security and defense sector forces of Ukraine”.
The event was attended by representatives of the Asset Recovery and Management Agency, the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, the Office of the Ombudsman of Ukraine, international organizations, the security and defense forces of Ukraine, academics and professors of higher education institutions.
During the conference, panel discussions were held in the following areas
– Searching for new opportunities and using the effective experience of EU countries in investigating particularly dangerous crimes;
– strengthening the interaction of security and defense agencies to counter the proliferation and use of weapons of mass destruction in the current environment;
– the latest approaches to reforming the security forces of the security and defense sector of Ukraine: practical activities, education and science;
– Implementation of the principle of gender equality in the security and defense sector of Ukraine: current state and immediate prospects;
– problematic aspects of the application of humanitarian law in the investigation of particularly dangerous crimes.
