October 13–17, 2025, Krakow hosted a meeting of the Information Sharing Initiative (ISI) on radiation safety and nuclear security, which operates under the G7 Global Partnership Against the Spread of Weapons and Materials of Mass Destruction.

The event was supported by the UK Department for Energy Security and Net Zero, the Swedish Radiation Safety Authority, and the Swedish Defence Research Agency.

During the meeting, an expert from KSRIFE’s Laboratory of Special Research Methods presented a cooperation project to share experience and best practices in chemical safety in Ukraine.

The initiative is designed to strengthen the scientific and technical capacity of forensic experts and to improve communication among research institutions, government bodies, and international partners.

The project provides for advanced training of forensic experts, knowledge exchange, and the development of joint standards for responding to suspected uses of chemical weapons.

Main areas of activity: internships in international laboratories (VERIFIN, TNO, FOI, WIS) workshops, training, and certification programs in partnership with the OPCW, VERIFIN, and CEMEC allocation of analytical equipment and software for chemical examinations preparation of co-authored scientific publications (Scopus, Web of Science).

Given more than 6,100 documented cases of the Russian Federation using munitions with toxic chemical agents, the project is critically important for strengthening Ukraine’s forensic capacity and reinforcing the national chemical safety system.
