The event convened representatives of state authorities, forensic science institutions, law enforcement agencies, the academic community, and digital technology specialists to address pressing issues surrounding the examination of virtual assets, the analysis of digital evidence, and the combating of offences within the blockchain ecosystem.
"The effective investigation of such crimes requires modern tools and specialist expert competencies capable of examining crypto transactions, tracing asset movements, and ensuring the proper presentation of digital evidence in court," noted Denys Maslov, Minister of Justice of Ukraine.
The Minister also highlighted the role of KNDISE in advancing Blockchain Forensics in Ukraine and expressed support for the Institute's ongoing endeavours in this domain.
Welcome addresses were delivered to the participants by Andrii Haichenko, Deputy Minister of Justice of Ukraine; Maksym Kysylov, Director of KNDISE; Serhii Ionushas, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Law Enforcement Activity; and Agnieszka Łukomska, Chair of the Board of the European Network of Forensic Science Institutes (ENFSI).
The practical dimensions of blockchain analytics and the application of digital evidence formed the core topics of the panel discussions. Participants discussed the tracing of virtual asset movements, establishing control over crypto wallets, detecting fraudulent schemes, the freezing and recovery of assets, as well as the nuances of employing blockchain analytics findings in criminal proceedings.
The event was moderated by Olena Agapova, LL.D., Deputy Director for Scientific Work at KNDISE.
The convening of the Blockchain Forensics Forum 2026 underscored the vital importance of an interdisciplinary approach to digital evidence examination—one that integrates specialised expert knowledge, advanced technological tools, and the legal mechanisms for their implementation.
KNDISE extends its gratitude to the speakers, participants, and partners of the Forum for their insightful discussions and professional exchange of expertise, as well as to the Kyiv School of Economics (KSE) for its support in organising and hosting the event.
