Particular focus was directed towards the multifaceted challenges currently confronting the scientific community amidst the rapid proliferation of artificial intelligence. It was disclosed that rigorous editorial scrutiny of submissions to the journal had brought to light concerning instances wherein authors cited fictitious sources entirely fabricated by AI tools.

In light of these revelations, Maksym Kyseliov spearheaded a scholarly discourse regarding the urgent imperative for normative and methodological frameworks to govern the application of artificial intelligence in both academic research and forensic practice. He articulated that whilst the meteoric rise of AI undoubtedly unlocks novel avenues for investigative and expert endeavours, itcontemporaneously demands rigorous paradigms to safeguard the veracity of outcomes, uphold academic integrity, and maintain professional ethics. Consequently, the Director extended an earnest invitation to the academic and expert fraternities to collaborate in formulating robust recommendations and standards.

Furthermore, Olena Ahapova, Deputy Director for Scientific Work at KSRIFE, delivered a comprehensive paper entitled "Expert Provision in the Realisation of the State's Sanctions Policy," elucidating the pressing nuances of expert involvement in the enforcement of sanction mechanisms. The presentation also highlighted the evolutionary trajectory of the Criminalistics and Forensic Expertise journal, detailing publication statistics, core thematic orientations, and the most salient avenues of contemporary research within the field.

We extend our most sincere gratitude to our colleagues for cultivating such a professional forum, one that so capably facilitates the deliberation of immediate challenges and the future advancement of forensic expertise in Ukraine.
