On 27.02.2025, the Ukrainian Research Institute of Special Equipment and Forensic Expertise of the Security Service of Ukraine held a scientific and practical seminar “Peculiarities of Appointing and Conducting Forensic Examination of Narcotic Drugs, Psychotropic Substances and Precursors”, which discussed some aspects of seizing drug laboratories, peculiarities of appointment and packaging of physical evidence, as well as research of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances and precursors during the relevant examinations, problems of research of biological fluids on the example of blood and legalization of cannabis in Ukraine.

Oleh Posilskyi, Head of the Materials, Substances and Products Research Department of the Criminalistics Laboratory of Kyiv Scientific Research Institute of Forensic Expertise and Larysa Oliinyk, Senior Forensic Expert of this Department, took part in the event and considered the impact of the interpretation of biological terms in regulatory legal acts on forensic examination.
