On November 01, 2024, the IP UKRAINE NOW 2024 forum was held in Kyiv to analyze the current aspects of intellectual property law.
At the invitation of the organizer, the Ukrainian Bar Association, the event was attended by representatives of the Department of Commodity Research and Special Types of Research of the Laboratory of Engineering, Transport, Commodity and Special Types of Research of KFI: Nataliia Kovaleva, Head of the Department, and Nataliia Klymova, Chief Forensic Expert. Among the speakers were Dmytro Huziy, Acting Head of the Department of Intellectual Property and Innovations of the Ministry of Economy, and Olena Orliuk, Head of the Ukrainian National Research and Development Institute of Intellectual Property (IP Office).
The program of the event was devoted to the analysis of topical aspects of IP law and included four sessions: “Restoration of Ukraine and IP”, “Policy debate on compliance with minimum standards of IP rights protection”, “IP – justice”, “IP in IT, media, communications”. They also discussed the current judicial practice in the field of intellectual property and the peculiarities of conducting forensic examination of intellectual property objects in view of the changes made to the Ukrainian legislation in the field of information security and the process of its adjustment on the way of Ukraine’s approximation to the EU.
