On 4 September 2024, the IV International Conference «Il Falsario 2024» on document counterfeit and identity verification took place in Venice (Italy). The event was held under the patronage of the Italian Ministry of Internal Affairs, the European Parliament and ANVU (Italian Local Police Professional Association). The meeting was moderated by the commander of the Venice Local Police, Marco Agostini.

The conference programme included the participation of experts from Albania, Ukraine, Macedonia, Belgium, Great Britain, Romania, etc. The Kyiv Scientific Research Institute of Forensic Expertise was represented by Serhii Naumenko, Chief Forensic Expert of the Trace and Ballistics Department of the Criminalistics Laboratory with the report on ‘Registration numbers of Ukrainian vehicles of different years of manufacture and elements of their protection’.

The participants of the event demonstrated the operational realities they face in their activities in combating violations of the law in the field of document control and identity verification.
