The event was organized by KSRIFE in partnership with Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute (KPI) — on the initiative of the expert community, which aims to develop blockchain forensics in Ukraine as a field that will determine financial transparency, security, and the evidentiary foundation of justice for decades to come.
The main idea of the event was to form a professional platform for dialogue between science, experts, law enforcement agencies, international partners, and the private sector, in order to implement blockchain technologies in criminalistics, forensic activities, and financial investigations.
“Today, digital assets have become a part of the economy and social life. The development of blockchain forensics is a response to the challenges of our time and, at the same time, an investment in the security, trust, and justice of the future. We initiated this forum to unite science, experts, and law enforcement in creating a system of blockchain expertise as a modern expert support for justice,”
— noted KSRIFE Director Maksym Kyselov.
The forum brought together representatives of expert institutions of the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine, Security Service of Ukraine (SBU), Office of the Prosecutor General, Bureau of Economic Security, ARMA, State Special Communications Service, State Research Institute of Cybersecurity Technologies, Yaroslav Mudryi National Law University, Igor Sikorsky KPI, as well as international structures such as EUAM, Pravo Justice, the legal community, and financial analysts.
Key discussion topics included:
-
Blockchain as an instrument of evidence;
-
Seizure and management of virtual assets;
-
Countering the financing of terrorism;
-
Training a new generation of experts;
-
Integration of blockchain with artificial intelligence.
European standards of digital forensics (ISO 27037, ISO 27043) and the Council of Europe’s course “Virtual Currencies and Darknet” were also discussed separately.
Forum participants noted that Ukraine has all the prerequisites to become a regional leader in the development of blockchain forensics, combining a strong IT school, active research, and the experience of expert institutions.
The Blockchain Forensic Forum demonstrated that Ukrainian forensic expertise is ready not merely to adapt to the digital era — it is shaping its standards and opening a new chapter in the history of expert support for justice.
