This day serves as a stark reminder of the war’s tragic toll upon the very youngest citizens of our nation. According to the Office of the Prosecutor General, as of May 2026, the armed aggression perpetrated by the Russian state has claimed the lives of no fewer than 705 children, leaving a further 2,527 wounded. One must acknowledge, however, that these distressing figures scarcely reflect the full magnitude of our loss; the relentless, ongoing hostilities and the temporary occupation of certain territories present formidable obstacles to the comprehensive gathering and verification of such data.

May the memory of all the young Ukrainians who have fallen victim to this war shine brightly and enduringly.
