Today, November 19, 2024, marks 1,000 days since Russian troops launched a full-scale armed aggression against our country. This is a tragic and heroic date that testifies to the freedom-loving and indomitable spirit of the Ukrainian people, the desire of our citizens to defend our country’s choice to move towards democratic human values and the rule of law.
Since the first days of active hostilities, tens and hundreds of thousands of Ukrainian citizens (including KFI staff) have stood up to defend our homeland by joining the Armed Forces and territorial defense, demonstrating examples of heroism, fortitude and indomitability that Ukrainians are inspired by now and will be proud of for generations to come.
Despite such difficult conditions, from the very beginning of the war, the KFI did not stop its work, continuing to conduct high-quality forensic examinations in the usual areas in the extraordinary conditions of constant shelling, destruction of infrastructure, periodic emergency power outages and other complications, but at the same time mastering new areas, including those that will facilitate the investigation of the crimes of the Russian occupiers after the end of the war and bringing them to justice in international courts.
