On March 28, 2024, Yuliia Mekshun, the forensic expert of the Chernihiv Branch of Kyiv Scientific Research Institute of Forensic Expertise, gave a guest lecture on “Legal Status of an Expert in Litigation” for higher education students of the Law Faculty of the National University “Chernihiv Polytechnic”.
The event was held in the format of a dialog between the speaker and the audience.
The expert familiarized the students with the concept of forensic examination, legislative and regulatory documents governing expert activity. The legal status of an expert in a court proceeding, the issues to be resolved by an expert, methods and techniques were discussed in detail, and practical examples of the application of special knowledge in the course of forensic examinations were provided.
