A representative of the Kyiv Scientific Research Institute of Forensic Expertise became a participant in the International Forensic Photography Symposium

Ruslan Demianenko, Senior Forensic Expert of the Forensic Speech, Audio Analysis and Forensic Information Technology Department of the Kyiv Scientific Research Institute of Forensic Expertise, became a participant in the 2nd International Annual Forensic Photography Symposium, which was held online from January 16 to 19, 2023.

The symposium was organized by ai2-3D Forensics. The ai2-3D Forensics company is primarily engaged in the exchange of knowledge and training of forensic experts in how to use 3D technologies in their work, in particular, laser scanning, photogrammetry, 3D reconstruction and other topics.

The International Forensic Photography Symposium is held to familiarize the forensic community with the challenges of using digital photography at crime and accident scenes to document evidence and what solutions are being found by the world’s leading experts, what methods and best practices are being used to overcome these challenges to create informative photographs to help the legal system. International theoreticians and practitioners of forensic photography from Canada, the USA, Great Britain, Italy and other leading countries of the world were invited to participate in the Symposium and presented presentations on various topics for the participants. The topics of presentations at the Symposium covered a fairly wide range of discussed topics, in particular, from modern photographic equipment (mirrorless cameras, alternative light sources, telephoto lenses, etc.) to software and image processing (photogrammetry, shooting in infrared, photography for crash investigations, drone photography, surveillance and shooting at night, etc.).
