
On November 18, 2020, Oleksandr Ruvin, Director of the Kyiv Scientific Research Institute of Forensic Expertise of the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine, took part in the Annual Meeting of members of the European Network of Forensic Science Institutes (ENFSI).
Taking into account the
requirements of the time, the meeting was held remotely via videoconference.
The event was opened with
welcoming speech by Pedro Luis Mélida Lledó, Director of the General Commissary
of Scientific Police of the Spanish National Police, and Michael Bovens,
Chairman of the ENFSI Board.
Traditionally, during the work
the issues of inclusion of new member institutions and individual new permanent
representatives in ENFSI were considered. In addition, it was presented
presentations regarding direct grants from the European Union in recent years,
current trends in the development of forensic science, the activities of the
ENFSI working groups, and changes in the main documents.
There was also a presentation of
the preparation process for the “ENFSI 2021” Annual Meeting, which is planned
to be held in Athens (Greece) and the preparation process for the conference “EAFS
2022” in Stockholm.
It should underlined that cooperation within the ENFSI framework opens up many opportunities for expert institutions. First, it is powerful support in solving urgent expert problems, exchange of experience in the field of forensic activity and scientific developments at the international level.
